Negotiators Meet for 17.5 Hours on Saturday; No Deal Yet, but Talks Continue Today

Wowee! At least no one can accuse the HEA or the school board of not putting in enough time to try to get an agreement in place before 6PM on Sunday! After meeting for more than seven hours on Friday, negotiators for both sides met for a whopping 17 1/2 hours on Saturday! Yup, they started their meeting at 11AM and hashed things out until almost 4:45AM this morning.

Chris Krug, General Manager and Executive Editor of the Northwest Herald, published this editorial this morning regarding the teachers' need for a reality-check.

Bongo hears there was a great deal of progress made once again on Saturday! Bongo is hopeful that the next time his phone rings it will be Dr. Burkey announcing that an agreement has been reached and that school will take place on Monday morning!

Come on now, everyone… Let’s all cross our paws, fingers, toes, hooves…. whatever you’ve got, and let’s all wish for contract resolution this afternoon!
