Copy-Cat Blog Shows Poor Taste; Uses Football Team as Pawn (Updated)

Remember the HEA blog that went live the other day? So far it has shown incredibly bad taste with its tone and topics.

For example, a post made this morning shows a photo of a Huntley Varsity Football player during the winning game over powerhouse McHenry on Friday night. The blog entry's title is "Playoff Bound?" For those who don't know, during a strike all sports teams forfeit their games. A forfeit looks just like a loss in the record book.

Bongo found the post to be in poor taste on so many levels, but what the post announced loud and clear is that the HEA sees nothing wrong at all with using the successes of the varsity football team as a pawn in their negotiations game.

How low can those HEA negotiators stoop?

They may as well have just posted this headline, which would have sent their intended message:

"We've got the District right where we want them since the varsity football team is good and forfeiting games because of a strike could ruin their playoff chances."

The HEA should never again say they don't hold the kids hostage or use them as pawns. Its exactly what they did when they decided to post their thinly veiled threat this morning.

Oooo, looks like this post struck a nerve with the HEA blog squad. Shortly after Bongo made this post, the HEA site took a turn away from contract issues and claims it will now focus on the positive things going on in District 158. Now that's a blog worth reading! Too bad they didn't post their "positive impact" post before the "playoff bound?" post. Maybe then the "strike = forfeited football games" post wouldn't have been so transparent.
