What Does Last, Best and Final Offer Mean?

Evidently HEA Co-President Julie Hunter hasn't been using her doggie dictionary.

In today's Northwest Herald, in response to what the school board is calling its "Last, Best, and Final Offer," when asked what she thought would happen if the teachers union members rejected the offer, Hunter said this:

"We would be hopeful that the board would continue to negotiate with us."

Maybe she lost her dictionary, so here are some definitions for Hunter:

Last: final, ultimate or conclusive, at the end

Best: most advantageous, suitable, or desirable; largest; most

Final: pertaining to or coming at the end; ultimate, constituting the end

Here is today's story in the Northwest Herald.

Here is today's story in the Daily Herald.

Interesting how cub reporter Jameel still refers to Larry Snow as chief negotiator, isn't it?

Hey Jameel, the guy who calls you the most often isn't necessarily the guy in charge. Last time Bongo checked, Shawn Green was the leader of the D 158 board and the official spokesperson for the board in these negotiations. The Northwest Herald is getting their information from Green. Why aren't you?
