Bongo bets the noses on the faces of the Teachers Union negotiators are getting pretty long.
In keeping with the schedule agreed upon by both District 158 and the Huntley Education Association (HEA), a progress report press release was issued on Thursday afternoon. What’s missing is the statement coming from the teachers’ union negotiating team.
You can read the press release here.
Bongo wonders why the HEA agreed to issuing press releases twice each month when it’s becoming pretty clear that they never had any intention of obeying this rule. Bongo’s momma was a wise old pooch. One of the first lessons she ever taught him was that without trust, you have nothing.
Then Bongo got to thinking. Me hopes that these teachers aren’t going into their classrooms and telling the kids that it’s okay to say one thing and then do another. The old “do as I say and not as I do” doesn’t work very well on kids. Much like Bongo, kids can smell a liar a mile away.
According to the release, the HEA has not budged on their outrageous salary and benefit increase demands that they made when the negotiations started. Bongo sure hopes they come down from Fantasyland sometime soon so that real negotiations can begin.
