District 158 Chief Operations Officer Glen Stewart has been missing in action for over a month now. Bongo has been sniffing around, but no one is barking.
Bongo is starting to get a bad “déjà vu” kind of feeling. It is no secret that Stewart was at the top of Larry Snow’s hit list. Both Snow and Seedorf never passed up an opportunity to try to embarrass Stewart at meetings and impune his character. How many times did they try to catch him unprepared at meetings? How many times did they lob insults at him in front of others? How many times did they refer to Stewart’s hiring as “political favoritism shown by the board majority clique”?
The truth is, Stewart is good at the Chief Operations job and Snow and Seedorf know it. But then again, Stacie Talbert was a good Comptroller too, wasn’t she? Operations improved under the leadership of Stewart and Snow and Seedorf know it. But then again, fiscal practices improved under the leadership of Stacie Talbert too, didn't they?
Could that be another verse of “Another One Bites the Dust” that Bongo hears coming from Larry Snow’s car stereo? Only time will tell.
