Where's Aileen?

Bongo howled with laughter last week during the Committee of the Whole meeting when Aileen Seedorf made a point of addressing the lack of activity on her community relations committee. Bongo didn’t write down her words exactly, but they were something to the effect of “even though it looks like I’m not doing anything, there is community relations work being done.”

Really? Bongo asks for Seedorf to throw him a bone and provide a bit of information regarding just what she has done to improve community relations since she took over that committee in May of 2007. Me thinks Ms. Seedorf is nervous because people are beginning to realize that she has no interest in community relations whatsoever.

For the candidate who accused the former board of “shutting down public discourse,” Seedorf has done NOTHING to facilitate a two-way conversation between the District and its people. For the candidate who said the former board “focused on stifling new ideas,” she has done NOTHING to seek new ideas from the community at large.

Much like “Where’s Waldo,” Bongo would have thought that Seedorf would have been all over the District 158 community soliciting ideas and feedback from her constituents so that she could keep her campaign promises. Yet she is a no-show at every community event that Bongo has been at.

Where’s Aileen? She sure hasn’t visited Bongo’s puppy neighborhood. How about the rest of you puppy-pals? Has Aileen been spotted in your neighborhoods, talking to people and getting their feedback?

Interesting post Bongo. I received Mrs. Seedorf's literature in a bag tied to my garage door. She made alot of promises that were evidently just a bunch of crap to help get her elected. This big dog will certainly remember that next time she wants me to believe her! As for seeing Mrs. Seedorf out and about, I have NEVER seen her at a school concert or play, and I have NEVER seen her in my neighborhood of Spring Lake Farms, which is right across the street from her neighborhood of Southwind. She could make the effort if she wanted to, but she doesn't.
