Bongo can barely control himself this morning. In fact, when my master saw me running around with my tail wagging wildly, I was immediately put outside. When I was allowed back in, I went straight to the Northwest Herald just to make sure I hadn't been dreaming.
It's true! District 158 has taken a significant turn financially. The once troubled district now has a financial plan and profile in place that has so impressed the Illinois State Board of Education, that their big dogs have given the District an award.
Click on the image to make the article larger, and you can read for yourself just how significant this award is. Bongo could not be happier that District 158 has financially savvy Kevin Gentry and Tony Quagliano to lead financial decision-making on the board. Four paws up to both of them! And kudos also go out to the other board members, who worked very hard in spite of some mighty overwhelming oppostion from two of their own to get the District onto solid financial footing.
Board Vice President Quagliano directly credits the 2004 referendum as a major reason why the District has such a healthy financial status right now. Bongo bets that comment really frosts Snow (get it? Frosts Snow?), who rarely passes up an opportunity to tell his peeps that the referendum wasn't necessary at all.
Are those crickets I hear chirping in the background? Or does Snow just have a mouth full of crow?
