Election Pits Skala Against Snow for Two-Year Seat

Bongo can hardy contain his excitement today. He hasn’t been this happy since the Schwann man accidentally dropped 15 pounds of hamburger patties off the back of his truck!

The school board ballot for District 158 is set, and five good people are running for the four available four-year seats on the board. But the part that has Bongo’s tail in overdrive today is the fact that it looks like you humans are in for a Skala-Snow showdown for the two-year seat.

It will be a battle of Good vs. Evil and only one man will be left standing on April 8 (the day after the election).

The community will have their say, once and for all, and their mandate will determine which of these two humans represents the future of District 158.

Will voters choose Michael Skala, a well-respected business owner from Huntley who has been instrumental in providing classrooms for kids during periods of unprecedented growth and who has worked hard to improve curricular and extracurricular opportunities for kids? You know, the man who, when he learned the potential impact of the 2004 referendum, made countless trips to Springfield to work cooperatively with legislators to change the tax cap law and protect District 158 taxpayers?

Or will voters choose Larry Snow, who ran former head financial officer Stacie Talbert out the door when she was doing great things for the district, wasted $100,000 on a forensic “witch hunt” which turned up no fraud and has wasted thousands of taxpayer dollars on other vendettas? You know, the guy who has alienated himself from the teachers, administrators, most other board members, and nearly all elected officials from Huntley, Algonquin and Lake In The Hills because of his unprofessional and downright rude behavior?

Fasten your seat belts, humans, it is shaping up to be a very interesting next few months!
