Missing: Snow and Seedorf

Is it just Bongo, or did anyone else notice that Thursday’s Board of Education meeting ran like a well-oiled machine?

They were done in less than two hours, discussions were pleasant, the remarks respectful, and oh yeah, Aileen Seedorf and Larry Snow weren’t there. To the best of Bongo’s knowledge, this marked the first time since Seedorf was elected two years ago that BOTH missed the same meeting. Hmmm.

Bongo found it very interesting that the two missed the meeting when what could arguably be deemed the most important issue this district will face EVER was on the agenda… the future of how high school students will be housed in D 158.

But then again, the new landscaping contract was also on Thursday’s agenda, and Moore Turf Care was not the recommended contract recipient because they were not the lowest bidder.

Did Snowdorf stay away on purpose because they were between a rock and a hard place and just couldn’t bring themselves to vote to give the landscaping contract to a vendor other than their political allies the Moore’s? Remember the great lengths they went to last year on behalf of the Moore’s when it was the snow removal contract that was being awarded to a different vendor? The political favoritism they showed was jaw-dropping.

Or did they purposely stay away so they did not have to participate in the high school capacity/housing study, so they could come back later and complain that the process was flawed (one of Seedorf’s favorite lines)?

Or, perhaps there was a real reason why both were gone. But past behavior by both Snow and Seedorf suggests there is a political and self-serving motive behind everything they do.
