Marlowe Science Teacher Dubbed "Girls Tennis Coach of the Year"

Bongo's tail is wagging today. He just learned that Barry Wells, the 6th grade science teacher from team 6-2 at Marlowe, was just named Northwest Herald Girls Tennis Coach of the Year!

Evidently, when he's done teaching kids what happens when you mix baking soda and vinegar in a balloon, he goes over to Huntley High School to teach the girls tennis team how to execute the perfect "Ace."

According to the newspaper article above (click on it so you can read it), Wells has been the coach for four years and has made incredible strides with the high school girls' team. His first three years the girls didn't finish with winning records, and after starting with a 1-4 season this year, the team really poured it on and finished with an impressive 6-5 record. The winning record included tennis wins over perennial contenders Cary-Grove Dundee-Crown, McHenry and Woodstock!

Way to go girls, and congratulations Barry Wells! Four paws up for all of you!
