Well, Bongo is back from some very much needed R and R. And you have no idea how badly Bongo wanted his first post to be about the Red Raider Varsity Football Team’s perfect season.
Oh well, 8-1 is nothing to bark at, and tying for the Fox Valley Conference championship is mighty impressive!
Remember a few short years ago when Huntley was new to the FVC and football games were difficult to watch? Well, that's certainly not the case any more, is it??!!
Huntley's varsity team finished their regular season on Friday with a disappointing loss to Johnsburg, but the loss did not cost them the FVC title. They just have to share it now.
Bongo looks at it this way: If Huntley had a bad game in its system, better to get that game out of the way now rather than once the playoffs begin, right?
So its off to the playoffs for Huntley. Bongo will be there barking in support of those talented boys.
On a side note, Bongo noticed that usual football powerhouse Marian Central didn’t even make it to the playoffs this year. Remember how Huntley Senior Jordan Neukirch was considering a move to Marian for his senior year?
Right about now Bongo is guessing that Jordan is glad he stayed in Huntley. Bongo is sure glad he did too!
