Admisistrative Raises for 2008-09 Less Than What Was Offered to Teachers

Bongo isn't sure why the Northwest Herald would run a front page story about administrative raises that were approved in June. The timing seems a bit "National Enquiry" to Bongo. Shame on Amber for setting journalistic integrity aside in an effort to stir the pot. But regardless of the questionable timing, the story did point out a very interesting fact:

The average salary increase for administrators for 2008-09 is 4.8%, and the HEA said "no way" to just shy of 5.5%.

Here's the story.

There was also an interesting letter to the editor in the Northwest Herald today from former school board member Kevin Daleiden. You can read his letter here.

And then finally, Magaging Editor Chris Krug had this to say about the on-line comments regarding the negotiations.

Bongo has his paws crossed for a peaceful resolution today, as the District and the HEA are meeting all day to discuss the contract.

You, of course realize, that had all the money that went to administrators been dispersed amongst the 577 teachers, they probably would not have had enough per paycheck for two gallons of gas or a favorite espresso at their favorite coffee house.....
