Did Anyone Watch the Committee of the Whole Meeting Last Week?

Bongo watched some of the video stream of the COW meeting last week, but missed what was evidently “the good part.”

Was anyone watching the discussion about summer school fees? One of Bongo’s loyal readers said that Larry Snow actually felt that different “demographics” of people should be charged different rates for summer school. Bongo’s source says that Snow was not interested in adjusting rates based on financial need, but was more than willing to lump an entire demographic of people together, assuming they were all people of need.

If anyone saw that portion of the meeting, Bongo would be interested in receiving an e-mail from you thorough this site.

UPDATE

One of Bongo's readers provided the following information:

As far as the summer school discussion went, I did think that he was implying that those families who's students need ELL services through summer school could only afford the lower cost, $20.00 I think it was. He was for raising the rate of the reading thread of summer school because he didn't see how the program could be run on such a low "tuition" rate. It sort of was like, the reading kids are the Americans, and they can afford to pay more, but those who can't speak English can't afford anything. It was unsettling, to say the least...
