Larry Snow's days are pretty predictable right now. Wake up, go to computer, see what letters to the editor and newspaper articles are posted, and start the blog attacks against Mike Skala and his supporters. Continue blogging all day. Go to bed. Next day, repeat.
Yesterday, while Snow was engaging in his daily nasty blogging ritual, Mike Skala was in Springfield working hard for the District 158 taxpayers. Skala, along with Tony Q and Dr. Burkey, were in our State Capital addressing a Senate committee regarding a bill that would increase District 158's state aid by more than $2 million a year.
Bongo's wallet thanks Skala, Quagliano and Burkey for taking a day off from their paid jobs to go to Springfield and lobby for passage of a bill that will ultimately save me money on my tax bill.
But Snow, who calls himself a champion for the taxpayer, did not testify. He didn't even make the trip. Snow, the chair of District 158's legislation committee, stayed home and attacked Mike Skala's reputation all day on the blogs.
ACTIONS speak louder than words, Mr. Snow, and right now Mike Skala is out there DOING something while you remain on the sidelines lobbing insults and false accusations.
Here is a link to the Northwest Herald story about yesterday's Springfield visit.
The best quote comes from State Senator Pamela Althoff, who credited Mike and Tony by saying,
“I thought [the Illinois State Board of Education] made their case, but Tony and Mike were dead on target, and they swayed the committee,” said Althoff, R-McHenry.
