Bongo's Favorite Event of the Year: The Foundation's Variety Show!

Bongo looks forward to it every year and will be sitting in the front row on Sunday.

It's the District 158 Education Foundation's Variety Show. You humans are in for a treat if you go to Huntley High School on Sunday at 2:00. You can see humans ranging in age from 5-85 at the Performing Arts Center. Several groups from Sun City will share the stage with kids of all ages, as the community comes together for a showcase of all kinds of talent. Bongo just loves it when everyone gets along!

The emcees of the event are HEA member Tom George (a Huntley High School Teacher)and school board president Shawn Green. Wow! An HEA member and a school board member sharing the stage... I wonder if they will smoke a peace pipe? Bongo guesses they will at least poke fun at the recent negotiations...

Rumor has it that Superintendent Dr. John Burkey will perform, and that Green will sing a song and play the guitar. Pair those acts with the Sun City Strutters and several other acts, and you've got a recipe for FUN!

If you are able, Bongo strongly encourages you to support this event. Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for children, and proceeds go toward scholarships for Huntley High School seniors and for grants for District 158 teachers.

The Director is Kim Skaja, a current school board member who is up for reelection on April 7. Mrs. Skaja wins brownie points with Bongo, because this volunteer position will raise thousands of dollars that will help the kids.

Four paws up, Mrs. Skaja!
