Chances are, if you read Bongo's blog you also peek at Cal Skinner's blog. Cal shamelessly promotes Larry Snow and Linda Moore on his blog. So Bongo is very interested to see how last night's school board vote will be portrayed on his blog.
A few days ago, Skinner (aka Larry, who writes a lot of the articles about D 158 for him), published a post slamming the "board majority, led by Skala and Skaja," when it was suggested that a vote to postpone the high school capacity survey would take place on Thursday night. According to Cal (aka Larry), the vote to postpone would be a political move to delay the survey work until after the election, when they hoped Snow was no longer on the board.
First, since when is "the board majority" led by Mike Skala? Last time Bongo checked, the board president was Shawn Green and the VP was Tony Q. Oh yeah, that's right, the board majority started being led by Skala the day that it became known that Skala and Snow were going to duke it out for one, two year seat at the April 7th election. That's politics according to Snow. Just make stuff up if you need to, right Larry?
Last night's vote to postpone was 5-1, and the "ONE" isn't who you humans would think. The sole dissenting vote came from Shawn Green, who said he didn't want to put off the survey.
Both Snow and Seedorf voted in favor of postponing the survey, which last night made them a part of the "board majority." Funny how that works, isn't it?
Skala was absent from the meeting.
The decision to postpone it was made in response to a recommendation by Superintendent Dr. John Burkey, so that new kindergarten enrollment numbers could be known. I kept waiting for Dr. Burkey to say "we're delaying it because we want to wait until Mr. Snow is no longer on the board," but he never said anything like that.
