Well, at least it was a joint release...
That's about all that can be said about this week's joint press release regarding the status of contract negotiations between District 158 and its teachers union.
Bongo does find it interesting that the Financial Advisory Committee will be weighing in on the negotiations. An agenda item for their meeting today is a discussion about the impact the HEA proposal would have on District 158's finances.
Me thinks it doesn't take a room full of financially savvy people to see that a 35% increase in salary and benefits would bankrupt District 158 in a very short period of time!
Regardless, it will interesting to see if the FAC comes out with an official position. Bongo sure hopes they do!
