From My Puppy Pulpit

One of Bongo’s biggest complaints about Larry Snow is that he micromanages. Snow thinks he knows more than anyone else on all subjects, and as a result he constantly criticizes all kinds of people for the professional work they do.

Remember when the results of the forensic audit didn’t go his way? He went after the credibility of the auditors. Remember in 2004 when a referendum passed by 150 votes? It was he who demanded the recount because he thought County Clerk Katherine Schultz didn’t know how to do her job. Remember after the MRSA event at Chesak when a representative from the McHenry County Board of Health said the district’s response went above and beyond what was necessary with regard to protecting students? It was Snow who continued to “cry wolf” with parent’s emotions even after he was told by the expert that there was no danger.

Today, Bongo has a bone to pick with Board Vice President Tony Quagliano, whose quotes in a recent Daily Herald article sounded very “Snow-like.”

"That's not going to sit very well with most of us," board Vice President Tony Quagliano said. "We'll probably take it upon ourselves to put (evidence) together and give it back to them."

Since when is Quagliano an expert at police work? Since when does Quagliano know more about the burden of proof than the state’s attorney’s office?

Bongo suggests that Quagliano stick to what he knows best… finance, and leave the police and prosecutorial work to the experts who are trained in those fields. Otherwise he runs the risk of joining his colleague Larry in the ranks of those who think they are the only ones capable of being right.
