Board President Shawn Green recently suggested that “scorecards” be available at board meetings so that audience members can provide feedback about the efficiency of the meeting, the behavior of the board members, the level of preparedness of the administration, etc. Larry Snow said the idea was not worth implementing and said it was just a “political stunt” on the part of Green, who would stack the audience with his friends.
Less than two months later, Snow suggested that the board of education hold 1/3 of its meetings inside Sun City, since Sun City represents about 1/3 of the tax base. It is a common known fact that almost all of Snow’s support comes from Sun City. In addition, rarely a meeting goes by when Snow does not accuse other board members of showing political favoritism to a certain group of people.
Why is it “political” when Shawn Green wants to solicit feedback from attendees at board meetings, yet its not political when Snow wants to move board meetings away from the school district facilities and into Del Webb, where non senior citizens are not allowed to attend?
