Snow Criticizes Teacher Sick Time at Board Meeting

The new assistant track coach position for Heineman was approved Thursday night in a unanimous vote by the school board. Neither Snow nor Seedorf bothered to explain their change of heart on the issue. Perhaps they visited Bongo’s blog and read the research on the benefits of exercise and organized school sports for kids?

But in the same meeting, Bongo had to howl with laughter when Larry Snow suggested that District 158’s teachers were getting too much paid time off. Snow said too much was being spent on substitute teacher pay. Dr. Burkey asked Snow if he would rather have teachers come to school sick, deny teachers their maternity or family leave time, or just violate the legal contract all together. As usual, Snow was quick to criticize, but when asked to present a solution, he had none. I guess a signed legal contract with the teachers union means nothing to this dirty dog. Since Snow has billed himself as a professional arbitrator of contracts, me wonders why all of a sudden the legal wording regarding sick days and family leave time for teachers confuses him.
